Rekayi Mohamed Katerere
Independent Non-Executive DirectorRekayi is an innovative and energetic young mind with diverse international experience. Through his training in the Economic Research and Policy Division of the RBZ, he acquired diverse knowledge of the Zimbabwean economy complemented by an understanding of monetary policy, international economics, and the real economy. He is an effective communicator and has experience working with decision-makers.
Rekayi takes a keen interest in advancing development transformations particularly food production and energy. His master’s degree in Economics for Transition, with distinction, from the University of Plymouth, included the study of innovative and resilient systems for food production in the United Kingdom.
Rekayi was awarded a distinction for his thesis on energy transition in Zimbabwe which focused on leveraging solar mini-grids to support local employment, economic multiplier, and access to clean energy in urban areas. Rekayi obtained his BA at the University of British Columbia, Canada in 2015
